Nha Trang, not the best luck

We had one day in Nha Trang, it was beautiful. It's a beach city, definitely bigger than Hoi An, but with even clearer water, and a bit cooler, which was nice, because the sun was blazing hot. I never even realized Vietnam had places like this, palm trees all along the beach, water as clear as the carribbean, and little islands offshore for the country's best scuba diving. I know I'm jaded from American War Movies, but I just never realized Vietnam offered this sort of "vacation". Well, our d...

Some beachised R&R after i leave Mui Ne.....If i ever leave Mui Ne!!! :) Well i did leave Mui Ne and after 3 days in Nha Trang i am glad i left Mui Ne. Mui Ne was much quieter and relaxing than here but the beaches are much better and cleaner. Went diving today at Moray beach and Fisherman Bay. Had about 7 metres visibility with fish and coral to look at. The best part was i was the only diver so i had 2 dive masters and 6 boat crew to myself!!!! All at USD$32!!! Bonus Hot Tips for travel...

From Paradise to Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh!

After 3 days in Paradise, it just got better & better, but it seems unkind to you all to go on about it - we've been lured back to the noisy manic city of Saigon. It's back to the Saigon dance: the Million Motorbike Excuse-me. We're getting quite good at it now and like to think that we cross Saigon streets with a certain nonchalence, and not a little sang-froid. I said we wouldn't dwell on the wonders of Paradise, but we can't resist telling you a little about it. It was - as Gill would ...

Beautiful beaches of Nha Trang

So we stopped in Viet Nam in a nice little beach town called Nha Trang. It is about 1/2 way between Hoi An and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Matt was sorely in need of tan, as he doesn't even look like he has been on vacation...sorry I mean holiday..., so we headed out to the beach the first day we arrrived...after we walked 5 KM round trip to visit the market and do some bartering. At first Matt was having a blast negotiating for everything but now it is getting to be a pain. One lady quoted us...

Not sure if they crossed paths back then, but there's certainly the possibility they did!

That restaurant is no longer there, but while we were in Nha Trang, my dad found a new favorite: Louisiane Brewhouse (http://www.louisianebrewhouse.com.vn/) . A rarity when it comes to Vietnam, Louisiane featured a number of homemade brews, including a passionfruit beer and a ginger beer. In addition, they had all the ...

The view from the top was nice.

Then on to Hoc Chong promontory to check out the granite rocks that juts into the South China Sea.

Finally I checked out Vinpearl. ... had a look around. Again, not hugely impressive, but the towers were good to look at and were obviously still of quite significant religious importance as there were loads of Vietnamese praying, and you had to take your shoes off before you went into the towers. The towers were built between 7th and 12th Centuries and they also offered some good views of the city of Nha Trang.

Next we taxi'd it over to the Long Son ...
