    ... around the old town and has a small existence with tourism. Geraldine thought the ruins too new to be of interest. We went in the morning again to avoid the hottest part of the day. (Weather 35-40 deg C clear skies and very humid).

    Ekincik was a delightful little anchorage off a small pebble beach with a natural spring just inland. We stopped here heading westwards & thought we'd visit again on the return leg.

    ... we felt it sensible to "park off". Sticking to the back roads and keeping as close to the lake as possible in hope of finding something led us to Dalyan. Dalyan is famed for its tourist attractions most of which are reached by boat taxis.


    The turtles at the river mouth, the mudbaths and the Kaunos archaeological site being some of the more popular stop overs if one takes a day tour.

    ... choice for our last evening meal. We had enjoyed other dishes but the speciality dishes requiring "slow cooking" definitely needed to be sampled. We pre – ordered a lamb dish cooked in a clay pot and Serife’s personal favourite, a chicken bake. These were supplemented by meze, a chicken cooked in an iron pan and a mince pancake.

    The campsite, under shady eucalyptus trees continues right onto a unique beach- the sand is a reddish colour which made for gorgeous sunsets. It gave the water and air a coral glow – perfect complement for the rose wine or G&T.

    ... myself, it was all reflected in those entries. The absolute sureness of the ending to my story, and the correct path that it was taking, it felt so good and romantic. But as quickly as that plane ride was from Malaysia to Indonesia so did the degree in how my emotions turned. I did a complete 180-turn with my heart. It made me want to get sick.
