    The Kronan or Crown, suffered a terrible fate on June 1st 1676 when she tacked too quickly whilst participating in the Battle of Íland against a combined Dutch / Danish fleet, tacking too quickly in that she was carrying too much sail and capsized. This was bad enough but what really ruined everyone’s day was that her gunpowder store then exploded, blowing her bows off and breaking her in two, so that she quickly sank. Over ...

    ... we returned to the glassblower as today he would be actually working with glass and we wanted to watch him but we must have been too early as everything was closed. We therefore returned to the boat and set about cleaning and restoring it to a two-person occupancy ie spread ourselves into the aft cabins. We also took the opportunity to wash guest sleeping bags and towels so that they could be stored ready for next year.
