I have been looking forward to this weekend (10/11th January), not because anything in particular is happening, quite the opposite in fact. After working for the past 6 days this week, I was looking forward to a couple of days of doing absolutely nothing. However, I woke up on Saturday to find that my power has been cut off. ... to each other. Dustn, Angela and Renee offered to host and prepare the dinner so we all gave them money in advance to buy the food that was needed and they did a splendid job. It may have Chicken instead of Turkey but given what we have out here, they did an amazing job and it was a really nice evening, sharing each other's company.

We got this vinegar sauce, mixed garlic and chilli with it, and my lips were tingling for quite some time afterwards. We capped it off with a visit to the campus cafe, and somehow accidentally ordered one mocha coffee too many. ... for its wealth and western style. My first evening was definitely an introduction to that side of China--busy and crowded but wealthy. On my walk home I did see some poverty. Homeless people, some kids sleeping in a truck with their parents snoozing outside of the cab. I plan to be here one more day, but will return a day or two before my flight ...
Well I haven't written in quite awhile so I thought I'd compile a bunch of random stories for everyone enjoyment :) Most of them are school bus observations haha.
On my way to school this past week I saw the following:
- A large white poodle with dyed ears and tail. What color you ask? Oh, obviously hot pink. I saw this same dog today wearing red shoes. Crazy right? If you're going to put shoes on your dog at least make sure they match. ...
