Will and I spent the day in the Changchun centre with John Humphreys,
doing a lesson observation and then delivering a 'Reading Strategies'
professional development workshop at the end of the day. They are a
lovely staff up here - Greg, Jason, Simon, Brandon, Corinne, Michael,
Craig - and all got involved in the session.
We woke up to a lovely sunny day. Had a lovely breakfast in the hotel and then walked down the block to Changchun Zoo. We had hoped to see some pandas, but were unlucky. Several of the animals were in very small cages and it was a bit distressing, particularly the poor polar bear.

... Park, where Ron and I had a private Tai Chi lesson from a local teacher. Not so private, as it was in full view of all! The great thing about the park was how it was being used by people of all ages to exercise, by informal dancing, playing a game that looked like kicking a shuttlecock with your heel between 3 or 4 people, bat and ball games, or more formal exercise groups. These last two months have been such a mix of emotions that I don't know that I can properly express all of them to you. There have been times when I've had an absolute blast and laughed and until my stomach ached. There have also been times where I was super stressed and frustrated and wanted nothing more than to sleep for a few days ...
