... not even the huge mountains. It's was quite cold although the walk up here had warmed us up quite a bit. As we waited and waited it appeared the mist wasn't going anywhere and slowly people started to leave. We decided to wait a little bit as sunrise was 6 and it was still a few minutes to go. ... most probably be very busy in the mountains but we do get to stay up there overnight so hopefully we will get a chance to enjoy a sunset and/or sunrise. ... and steps and viewing platforms. But all we saw was a wall of white thick fog. We saw absolutely nothing of the view the whole day. After lunch (very expensive!) and finding our hostel (even more expensive considering the dorms were just rooms with bunk beds IN the cable car station!) we took a walk around the peaks. Every once in a while we saw some contours of the cliffs we were standing on or some close peaks.

... there were a TON of people. But if one hikes a bit further out of the way one can find beautiful, nearly empty pockets of seclusion. After sunrise, Bill and I went our separate ways after exchanging email addresses. I decided that given the grueling nature of the hiking and the insanely high prices for food and water on the mountain (everything is carried up by porters using poles balanced on their shoulders with baggage on both ends) I would forgo another night on the peak ...
