... gave us a nice view back up the mountain. At one point Daniel and I noticed a sign "the best view on Mount Huangshan", this was definitely a lie as we looked into thick trees! At the bottom we all caught up and then split again with Brendon and Toon heading to see the town and the rest of us heading for the World Famous Huangshan Hot Springs. For hard seats we were very impressed by the comfort we enjoyed on the train and all had reasonable if short and broken sleeps. We got off and smoothly transferred to a bus just across the road from the train station which took us to Tangkou, the entry point to the mountain. Once we got to Tangkou though things were less clear. In my lonely planet book it reads as if from there you just start walking up an obvious flight of stairs, however there were all sorts of queue barriers ...

... one point I said hello ten times in quick succession before looking up and bursting into uncontrollable laughter as a tour group of 150 Chinese tourists approached. We tried for a good 3 seconds to say hello before they all started yelling Hello! back and a huge group gave Ali a big hug (Ali hates hugs). I was hysterical. I could barely walk.

After about 3 KM we all split up. Ali and I were total wimps and took the cable car the rest of the way ...

... narrow paths to the various peaks and viewing platforms, we were constantly stopping to snap all sorts of amazing pictures and just enjoy the wonderful views (while catching our breath of course). Today I finally went to the Huangshan Mountains (Shan=Mountain in Chinese). I departed from the hostel together with some other Chinese tourists and two French tourists. We took the first bus from the hostel to Tangkou, from there we had to take another bus in order to go to the cablecare which would take us up.
