We made it back to Aki twice more for Max who has added to his ever growing collection of nintendo memorabilia. He is happy. This is what he came for. From our metro station, everything seemed close and easy to get to. Things I will miss about Tokyo -the warm toilet seats - do not underestimate this or judge me. Toto has it all worked out believe me. -the calm politeness of the locals -the cleanliness of absolutely everywhere -the ease of the metro and trains and the frequency ...

... two minutes walk from the school for my final week of lessons, which cut out the morning commute (and may, just may, have led to some lie-ins). I was very sad to leave them: they had been extremely kind to me whilst I was their guest, and I can safely say that I would have been a lot lonelier had I not had them around! Chances are, if you're reading this, you're a relatively open individual because you looked past the "In Defense of the U.S." title--many people would see that and dismiss it as a nutty patriot's rant laced with racist remarks and massive generalizations of every race that is not him or her. Surprise, again! Not all views have to be extreme (but this will contain generalizations, since I haven't met all 1.4 billion people of China).

... the last of our Hong Kong dollars. We managed to do a pretty good job and all came away with something. I still think the shopping is no where near as good at Thailand was all those years ago. At the airport this evening we ran into a family from our tour group who were flying home to Melbourne and then also ran into Sue and Max who were waiting for us. They had spent their last night in the largest hotel in the world over on Macau. Although beautiful, Sue said it the hotel and ...

"This is my best birthday present, ever!" Minnie is soooo thrilled to be here. We spied Winnie the Pooh from afar and Minnie was desperate to meet him. After the long wait, she rugby tackled him for the bear hug and was utterly thrilled to see him. A game of hide and seek followed and the inevitable dance around and yet more hugs. Dragging her on to see Pluto and Goofy was tricky and she wasn't so ...
