... explore if you’re interested. During our last few days, we took a 2 hours sunset cruise on a yacht with free drinks and snacks (wow! ) walked to the other side of the island to see the kite boarding beach (breath-taking) and spent an evening in a disco drinking cocktails and listening to 2 young musicians who entertained us royally with tunes from the 70s ( I was in my glory!). One of the highlights of the week was the food – we tried our first ...

... not speak English. We were debating what to do when a young woman coming out of restaurant asked me if she could help. She came in with us and helped us order - so kind of her! After lunch we walked to the Guangzhou Zoo and spent a couple of hours there. It is one of the largest zoos in China, but only cost us about $3 each to get in. Along the way we came across Dongfeng Park (which included a little amusement park and playground for kids!) and decided to mosey around there. As with the rest of Guangzhou there ...

This is close to the most tired I've ever been, but we have finally made it to Guangzhou and are currently sitting in a decidedly random restaurant along Beijing Road, which is largely a massive pedestrian shopping street. After we got to the airport, immigration and baggage claim were relatively easy - once we were outside and away from the multilingual safety of the airport, things got predictably more ...

... it was through the mall around behind. It would have been very hard to find had they not pointed us the right way. We checked in, rested for about 15 minutes, then headed out for dinner. This part of Beijing Road is a pedestrian street, all decorated with lights and red paper lanterns. We were very tired, so we didn't spend too much time searching for a restaurant. We had a good meal then got back to the hotel about 10:00 ...
