      ... of some “veteran” teachers, we found some new food sources which will help – cream cheese and sliced ham. I made Blanche’s mushroom dip last night and it tasted soooo good!

      We know the deep freeze has settled in at home and we’re shivering in empathy. At least there hasn’t been a lot of snow to shovel yet!

      ... feels like there is a demonstration going on, except for the fact of that being impossible in China.

      There are so many things that called up my attention that I could keep writing for hours. The aweful disgusting smell of the fried tofu around some street stands, the architecture of the bridges in the parks, the two level elevated superhighways… But as always, no matter how much I describe, there is nothing comparable with being there and see and experience ...

      The apartment is a comfortable size and my room is air conditioned (and bigger than the one I had at school). He has a very large T.V. but there is only one channel in English.
