Today I bus to Frankfurt. I've been there before a long time ago when I worked for Penguins doing the book fair. I'd seen a little of the city then but it has grown in stature since and is more of a financial hub. It laden with foreigners it's not unlikeable though and has a lively atmosphere. I decided it was time to write a more "domestic" post. We haven't gone anywhere exciting since Paris, but I've been spending a lot of time planning out the next few trips. Manfred is struggling with pinched nerves in his lower back and is going to see a specialist on Friday. Despite this he is in ...

We were picked up from the Frankfurt airport at 5:45am(!) by my mother's Aunty Erica and Uncle Manfred. Despite a little jet lag, and the cold and wet weather (the weather in Sydney was sunnier), we stayed awake and set off to see the sights.

Wiesbaden is beautiful. We started with a visit to Erika and Manfred's garden. It is common in Germany to own a garden on a separate block of land than your flat. There ...
