In addition to these activities our students performed their much rehearsed chinese song which was well received by the crowd. Later they all danced with the Hangzhou students and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

... of creating black and oolong teas. This is done by "firing” and hand turning the leaves in a huge, super-hot, metal wok. The farmer gave us a firsthand demonstration of this technique and encouraged anyone interested to give it a try as well. Robert was brave enough to risk burning his hand, and the scrutiny of the entire tour group to roast some tea leaves. He assured me that the wok was indeed very hot!

Barely took any photos in Hangzhou as it ****** it down most of the time we were there but here are a few. Hangzhou isn't much of a wintery place really as most of the activities are based around the lake. We attempted to walk around it on my birthday but got soaked through so went to a silk museum instead. I told you it was three wet and wild girls let loose in China...We made up for the ****** weather by going for some real nice food at a restaurant called Grean Tea restaurant though. ...

... of the building but turned out be a tiny "garden" of Christmas trees on the second floor of the mall. The banner was almost as big as the entire garden!

I am proud to say that the Dutch part of the garden looks most professional though. They had been wise enough not to choose a real Christmas tree, as the others did.
