    ... stopped at the Louisiana border, I was talking to the ladies when they told me that I10 was stopped in both directions at mm50 because of an overturned truck in the median with suspected toxic chemicals.     ... ever seen. This is like a metaphor for Texas. Even when they do something wrong, they do it with pride of craftsmanship. We stopped at Bass Pro to watch Johnny run in fear from the fish. Emilia thought they were great and kept trying to grab them. I guess he doesn't understand the whole "invisible force field will keep the fish from swimming out into the isle and eating me" thing.     ... only non-fast food restaurant (that we could find out about). Ruby's Cafe is situated on the old main street---a stark contrast to the continuous strip mall of the main highway through town. This may have been out in the middle of nowhere, but the food was excellent. I ate the grilled shrimp, and it was possibly the best shrimp I ever ate anywhere.     When we began this trip we talked about honoring our last trip with my mother where she whined and pouted most of the way with a funny story about ice cream. Coming through mid-PA where there is nothing she decides ice cream would taste good. Not just any ice cream it had to be Whitehouse ice cream. I didn't even know what it was.

    We met a very joyful gal at the Lake Charles, LA train stop while waiting for our taxi. She had seen Kallen on the train and was asking us about him. She just starting singing and praying for God to continue healing and protecting him! It was so sweet!
