... last ride thru because my motel is 5 mi south of I-40. The motel seems to have little on the city itself so I will peruse my guide book and see what else is noteworthy besides the Clinton Library. I got all excited that there was a barbecue place beside the motel, until I realized it was abandoned.
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States visionrider... for a job and, once I get one, to move out.

My trip was great, and I'm glad I went. I plan on heading out again on a similar journey at some point, but I don't know when. I wish I could have traveled more, especially in the western United States, but it was either come home and get a job or work on the road, so I chose home and job. I know some people take jobs on the road, work for a few weeks and keep traveling ...

Ok we are still here in the pool, the girls have made friends with two girls all the way from Runcorn, England (can you believe it, what are the odds of that) I bet they know the way to Amarillo!!!!!

Conway, Arkansas, United States bastormsoccer... we hit a very bad storm - heavy rain, lots of wind. The
roads couldn't handle it and there was deep standing water on many of
the roads. We pulled off a while and waited it out. Once it calmed
down, we continued driving on US-78 toward Tupelo, Mississippi. We got
lunch at Arby's and let the kids stretch their legs (David Andrew was
mad that there was no playground!) We had a gas stop a couple of hours
later and were ...

Little Rock, Arkansas, United States lagalag1... they have tried to refurbish room...but we can't complain...for the price, it is a bed to sleep in and a place for the cats to roam around for the night. We are off to Oklahoma City or west of there depending on what time we get going. The delay today with the battery made us have to drive in the dark...we didn't get settled until 10:00 PM. In the morning we are going to meet Judith Lear's son Jake and his wife Gina and 4 year old ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States colleen.killorn... Little Rock itself. The downtown is surprisingly small, smaller even than Wilmington's, but clean and nice. We ate lunch at The Flying Saucer, a little pub with plates all over the walls and ceiling (get it?). They even had a UFO Club for their most loyal members. The perk of the club was that you got your own "flying saucer" with your name on it hung on the walls of the restaurant The food wasn't bad, but the ambiance was better. After lunch, Ed and I walked down to the William ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States flying_shoe... past my feet, I see the dome. Some facts I know. Arkansas State Capitol. Constructed of Arkansas limestone. Completed in 1916. Often used in movies because it is patterned after the nation's capitol. Reduced in size, of course. Stand underneath a tree to get some shots. It's pretty, to be sure. Climb the steps and go inside, it's warm and dry and Christmasey, with twinkling light and red-bowed wreaths. White marble echoes when you walk, and there's a ...
