      Life as they knew it was pretty rosy, then on 29th November about 25,000 federal troops raced past the house trying to get to Nashville before the Confederates. The area just south of the town of Franklin was a perfect place for the Union troops to defend so they dug in. They were positioned about 1 mile North of the house.

      Wednesday night we had a '50's dress up dinner and dance. The band that played was the best we have ever had at a POG rally. Unfortunately the '50's dress up part was announced after we had begun our trip, so jeans and white socks were easy to do, but a shirt and black shoes presented a problem.

It is the usual though as anywhere else in the states the first thing they say is " are you Aussie " then once we correct them they say sorry and ask why we and the Aussies not get along......too funny how the sibling spats have broadcast around the world. Well we are all buggered but looking forward to hitting the road and going to Jack Daniels for our VIP tour and on to Memphis tomorrow ...
