... An American in Paris and decide we need to go back to the hotel to shower and change - big mistake. We head to the subway and try to figure out how get back - seem to walk for miles and eventually end up on a different train and all going OK as 72nd Street was listed but then all of a sudden it disappears. We end up at about 141st Street so back on another train and eventually we reach 72nd Street but a different station. Eventually we ...

... was well worth the effort. Our next stop was Tiffanys on Fifth Avenue. It is one of those places that has many people browsing and not many people buying. I knew exactly what I wanted though. A few years ago I had seen a silver locket in Chicago. A huge theatre - The Majestic and the staging, costuming and music was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Afterwards we crossed the street and went to 'Johns', the Zagat guide's best pizza place in New York. We got a table right in the window where we could watch all of the theatre goers crowd out into the streets. The Times Square spectacle ...

... was an almighty head clash. I fully expected blood to start dripping from between Jack's fingers but thankfully his eyebrow didn't split. He did have a massive egg on his eye and is currently sporting a very impressive black eye (the swelling is gone now and if he had two of those eyes he would have looked like Priscilla Queen of the desert). Secretly he's quite proud of the injury and if you look at the pictures you'd understand why!
