The anchorage in Chesapeake City is not a big one, but it is well protected. We got there with only two boats ahead of us. I saw what looked like the city wall with one sailboat on it, but I had read that you can no longer tie up there. We moved to the back of the anchorage and dropped anchor in a corner. We were soon joined by two Quebec boats about our size. They had come from Cohansy Cove as well, but they had been smart and gone up the river. They said it was still not ideal ...
So we had to decide: Drive straight home; stop and see Antietam then drive home; or, stop and see Gettysburg, then drive home. Antietam seemed to be the easier to see on a short stop and more off the beaten path, so Antietam it was. We wanted to make sure we were on the western side of the Appalachians before the weather came in. So, Gettysburg will have to wait for another day.

Today we didn’t do too much. Jared needed to do some work on drawings for an addition he is designing for my Uncle Mike so he did that pretty much all day and I relaxed. It was an exhausting weekend so we were pretty tired. We just stayed in tonight and watched some tv with my mom and dad.
... across this great country begins and this blog is where I plan to chronicle the things I see, the people I meet, and the crazy things I stumble across along the way. Right now, it's time to gear up, research more, and whip my lazy ass back in shape. The only problem right now is trying to concentrate on my day-to-day tasks, like my actual job.
