... in, so I'm glad I made the decision to get it out while we had the chance. Why did I need to return to the marina? Well, in our rush to get her out before the sun set we forgot that the dinghy outboard was in heated storage at the marina. Doggone it! The car was already packed to the roof, now I need to fit an outboard inside???

My last full day in Virgina, we decided to take in the Christmas Town displays at Busch Gardens. Unfortunately, Logan and Kegan both had to work, so Eric, Dawn, Kylie and I headed out right after dinner last night.
We walked the entire park. I took a lot of pictures, most without using the flash, so please excuse ...
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with my son, Eric, his wife, Dawn, the triplet grand kids, Kylie, Logan and Kegan. We spent the entire day together, enjoying family time, a lot of good food and some great football games.

I started the day with a 10+ mile bike ride today. The weather was great, with no wind and I really enjoyed the ride.
I had some extra time on my hands, so I decided to do a little sight seeing today. I visited the Army Transportation Museum, located here on Fort Eustis, where I have my trailer parked.

The best place we ate at was a restaurant called "Food for Thought". We had a great dinner here. The prices were reasonable, the service was excellent and they had some different southern dishes for us to try. We plan on going back for breakfast before we depart Sunday morn

Historical Traveler Reviews Hampton Inn & Suites Williamsburg
We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Richmond Road for four nights. The public areas of the hotel were nicely decorated and well maintained. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. We booked a one bedroom suite which was perfect for my husband, teenage son and myself. It was very clean and nicely appointed. The matresses in the bedroom were very comfortable. The pull-out sofa was not so wonderful. I would not recommend it for an adult's sleeping but, for kids, would be ok. My biggest complaint was the traffic noise from the busy street. There is some noise from room-to-room and from the halls. There is also a train that you can hear going by periodically. We had a hard time falling asleep despite the comfortable beds.
Unconfortable beds and pillows
The room and hotel in general were VERY clean. The service was great. However, the beds were really hard and unconfortable. The pillows were also unconfortable to the point that we had to sleep without them. I would stay somewhere else since I like to get a good night sleep.
We travel to Williamsburg every year and I believe my hunt for the perfect hotel is over. The Hampton Inn was in the perfect location also! It is very beautiful and clean. They have newly remodeled and it looks great! The staff was very friendly and courteous. They has a full breakfast and complimentary news papers. The indoor pool needed to be warmer though. Otherwise our stay was fantastic!
I have been a frequent visitor of Williamsburg for the past 18 years and have always had a favorite motel to stay in. Last year I decided to try something new, and in my past two trips I have stayed at places that were OK but not great. This past week I stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites and was more than pleasantly surprised.
You can definitely tell signs of wear and tear on this particular Hampton. The elevators were questionable and the rooms were clean but showed their use. The hotel was very crowded and lots of screaming/running children in the hallways - even late at night. Pool was overrun as well as the breakfast area. Of course, when you are at a chain hotel that is booked solid - what do you expect? My only real concern was the fact that I paid cash and had several issues with the front desk regarding the "application" of the cash. For example, they told me to "park" and then my receipt would be ready (after paying $500 cash). When I got my receipt, it just showed the amount as a credit, but did not specify that it was by cash. The receipt under my door on the day of checkout showed one night applied to cash and the balance to my CREDIT CARD that I had reserved the room with...needless to say, I was at the front desk in a jiffy. The same gentleman who checked me in was there and he assured me it was the night auditor's fault. He did print me a corrected receipt, but it did leave me feeling like someone was attempting to pull one over. All in all, it is a decent hotel but Hilton's other property, Embassy Suites, is much better in Williamsburg.
My family and I loved the spacious hotel. The lobby was large and open. We took one of the suites which was convenient for a family. Also, the location is key, right on the Richmond Rd. that contains many diffrent restaurants. If you have a family I recommend Hampton Inn and Suites.
Stayed here in April 2004 and loved it. The lobby was big and bright with TV . The rooms were large and clean and modern. The desk help were great . Morning breakfast was bountiful and well attended. Great location just a few miles from William & Mary & Colonial Williamsburg. We definatelywould return. Great rate $79
Good deal, but an older hotel.
I stayed here having never been to Williamsburg before. I got a good deal (huge suite in the off-season for $70) but I was disappointed when I saw how old the hotel is. I drove past several new hotels (Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express) that had only been maybe $25 more a night and would have been worth it. The room was showing its age - the curtains fell off the wall when I opened them! I had to laugh when that happened. A good deal though, and if you have kids there's plenty of room for them in this suite. Includes full kitchen and huge bedroom.
Get the take-out BBQ at Red and Blue down the road!
Room to move around in
We would definitely stay at this hotel again, the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was roomy also. We did not feel cramped at all. The staff was very friendly, and they were helpful giving us directions and dining suggestions.
Happy at the hampton inn
My husband and i just moved to the mid-atlantic area and wanted a inexpensive vacation. We got lost and called the hotel we were scared we would lose our room arriving after mid-night. They kept our room and give us directions. I had a problem with my room around 11:00 pm the second night the front desk fixed it right away. We reserved 7 nights but on the 5th day my husband had a job emergency so we left early. Usually this is a problem at other hotels no problem here. It is a cute hotel up-to date. Friendly staff,. no restutrant but a good size contental breakfast. The front desk staff made great resturant ideas. They seem very knowledgable. Good for families
