Our favoritest hotel chain ever!

We are having a wonderful stay here in Western Pennsylvania! We decided to make the long 6-hr drive across the state all in one sitting on Friday night. We've booked three nights here at Candlewood Suites. And, in fact, due to a changed schedule, it's both possible and advantageous for us to stay here an additional two nights, so that gives us five nights here in this suite.<br>We stayed at a Candlewood the weekend ...

History Comes Around

... determined woman of twenty something in the photo. I have to call Barry. This Spring after returning from Guatemala, Belize and Mexico we visited Monticello. Monticello is the restored home of one of the greatest men of U.S. history Thomas Jefferson. It was my second visit to Monticello and I lingered in Jefferson's office looking at native American artifacts and some of his books. Jefferson's interest ran the full gambit but he was ...

Time goes by too fast

Time goes by too fast. After eight weeks of study and analysis my time in DC has entered its final stage. I have completed most of my IRS project and will present my paper to my Dutch sponsors next week. My American colleagues from Capgemini Governmental Solutions have helped me in tackling some of the issues from a US perspective. And I have returned all my books to the GU library. Whilst packing my bags I look ...

Washington Monument, National Cathedral, and more!

... driver helped us out. He pointed out all the foreign embassies as we drove through Embassy Row. He also showed us which bus stop to go to after our Cathedral visit and offered transfers so we could ride for free on the return trip. The National Cathedral was HUGE! It was built in 1907 and finished in 1990. It is designed like cathedrals from the 14th century, and all the stone, iron and woodwork was done by hand in the old methods. The gargoyles ...

The Young Idiot Chronicles, Part I

... 3: Lunch is the most difficult meal of the day. Since we have a dearth of chairs, I use a blue one that we bought a Wal-Mart for 5 bucks. Its so low that my chin just about rests on the table. I look like a complete idiot midget sitting like that. Her parents sit towering over me, imploring me to eat the dish they cooked up after a visit to the Chinese market. Today's specialty was a whole fish, steamed with its head still intact. They put the thing in front ...

We goff out the bus driver

... himself but indulging in a blatant piece of cock-watching, gawping and pointing at a tramp who was having a ****. This incident, along with the similar one at Boston Common, confirmed my belief that Jay was a fully paid up member of the mythical Cock Spotters' Club, where the goal is to 'collect' a cock from as many cities in the world as possible. The bus back to the hotel was even more dodgy than yesterday, but having already survived in ...
