The first stop we made was at a rock cave and cutaway alongside Route 66. There was a network of toe and finger holds that allow for reasonably easy access to the top, about 25 feet or 8 meters above ground. Once the top is reached, a small series of rock columns and cave openings provide some small thrills and surreal images from the inside of the cave outward.
... a bit like a ghost town but according to Melba it is on the rise. Can she talk! We had the past, the present and the future all wrapped up in a 30 second monologue, no time to breathe. It's hilarious , then this young girl turns up and goes behind the counter to take over her shift from Melba and within 60 seconds we have her life story as well! Yep, that's Melba's niece! We finally get out of the cafe after the boys have enjoyed a very cold beer and we are now armed ...

After this brief bumpy road, we were back onto a regular road, stopping at Afton to grab a drink. While there, we spotted the faded Buffalo Ranch Trading Post - it didn't appear to be open but there was Buffalo in the paddock behind it and they were being fed when we got there.
We started our journey at 9am today. We first journeyed into Oklahoma to see the Oklahoma City National Memorial which was a very moving memorial to the people that died in the Oklahoma bombing. After that we found our way onto '66 and out of Oklahoma very well and it was not long beforewe were in Arcadia and saw the Pop Bottle at Pops.This was a petrol station with a massive Pop Bottle outside of it (66 foot tall) and the shop contained over 400 ...
