... essentials only, leaving all else locked in the boot of the car. Apart from the smell, the facilities were astounding, the bed sheet wouldn't keep anyone covered in the smallest of beds we had yet to experience, the fag burned cover a little flimsy with its pancake pillows. The one towel we had was thread bare and torn and there was a hole in the curtain with a piece of orange paper stuck over it. We had a much needed drink, a chill choc cocktail was on the cards ...

... the town of Radiator Springs. In both Missouri and Kansas there is evidence of financial struggles for businesses, with many closed, including the famous Soda Fountain in Baxter Springs, which is now some sort of tertiary learning centre. ... of course.

By 6PM we stopped our reorganizing and realized we'd not eaten all day; we'd not even sat down since we exited the coach. Whew! This traveling stuff is tiring work! Then John said, "Hey Hon, I know what we should do tonight," he said with a wink...

All in all, we had a wonderful trip...and we are glad to be back home!!

Happy Trails to all our friends!
