We had a great dinner last night with Tom, Gractia and the two kids in Dayton Ohio. They advised us to stop at jungle Jims on our way out, which is not your typical grocery store/ international market/ butcher/ fish market/ liquor store/ cigar shop/ etc... This place was huge! After spending a bit doing some shopping around the world we are off to the Great Smokey Mountain national park to do a little hiking. Tennessee here we ...

There was a display of all the astronauts that came from Ohio. There were a lot, probably more than any other state.

Here we are in Dayton. Every other mile in Ohio is being dug up or paved, but we had zero hold-ups, just lots of hairy, narrow lanes at 65 mph & hundreds of 16-wheelers movin' the USA economy along. Tonight we 'll dine with some calm dignity (we hope) .... a Japanese restaurant right across the road from the motel.

Saw glimpses of Lake Erie: very blue, featureless, and without a farther shore. ...
