Managed a trip on the subway to Yankee stadium and enjoyed the game although way too hot sitting in the heat of the afternoon. Mandatory chilli dog for lunch - extra long for Don. Yankees 4 - Texas Rangers 2. Back to midtown on subway then managed to catch an early evening cruise on the Hudson river under stunning cloudy skies - lady liberty even more stunning under half light and cloudy ...

Today we started with the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel, a selection of pastries, croissants, bagels and muffins along with tea, coffee and juice. By 8:30 we were on our way to the subway to catch the red line down to South Ferry. We were able to use the cards that we had been given last night. Less than half an hour later we were at Battery Park where the boats leave for Liberty Island and Ellis Island. We had pre-purchased entry with our New ...

We then covered the east side and ...

... rather loudly (OH MY GOD, IT'S OUT OF SERVICE, PMSL!!!).

We got here just after 4pm and ordered our food, it was delicious. As we weren't booked to go up 'the Rock until 7pm we had some time to kill, so headed off to St Thomas' Church a few blocks north of St Patricks on 5th. Inside here was much nicer and less crowded than St.P's, we only managed to get some long shots of the altar from the back as the choir were practicing for ...

... floors in the same time we do five at our current accommodation. Stepping out on to the first observation level is breathtaking, we could see for miles and we could see for real how big this city is. So many identifiable iconic buildings that we know somehow through movies and news, so that the scene is almost familiar yet completely new. Central Park is full of trees with no leaves so it looks bleak and unrelated to the city skyline. ...
