My family and I were in needed a place to stay in Miami for one night before a cruise. I booked this hotel because it was in our price range and it was for only one night. In the past, I have been very unimpressed with Hampton Inns, so my expectations were very low. This hotel blew my expectations out of the water. The hotel was great. The two story lobby was beautiful, and the front desk staff was very helpful. The parking deck and the elevators are all operated by room keys, so we felt pretty secure. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast the next morning was typical, but plentiful and the staff in the dining area were friendly and kept the food areas and tables very clean.

I will stay here again when I find myself in Miami.

    Very nice rooms!

    from

Stayed at this hotel for one night on July 3rd. Hotel has two levels of gated parking, and elevator access to rooms only by car key in the late hours. Rooms were VERY nicely appointed....can pass off as a Hilton Garden Inn or even a Hilton in some cities. Continental breakfast served in the morning was very adequate....various juices, cereals, muffins and danishes, sausage patties, fresh fruits, oatmeal and yogurt. You can also take a breakfast bag to go, if you are in a rush, which contains a muffin, apple, cereal bar, and bottled water.

The only drawback of this hotel as someone previous noted in his/her review, is the location. There is a Walgreen's, CVS, and a small shopping plaza with a Publix supermarket within 2 minutes walking distance, but not much else. Definitely only use if you are staying in Miami with a car, or only need to be there for 1 night between stopovers.

    Great Experience

    from

My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami-Airport South in May of 2005 on the front and back end of a trip to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This is an extremely clean and nice hotel close to the airport. They have shuttle service to and from the airport that runs every 30 minutes. They have an extremely nice complimentary breakfast each morning, including some bagged breakfasts if you are on the run. We also utilized their free internet access area (located behind the front desk) to print our boarding passes. Very convenient. The only drawback was that there are no good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We ended up taking a taxi, and because we didn't know how far things were, paid over $30 rountrip. Regardless, we loved the hotel and plan to stay there again next year when we travel to Roatan. Next time I will do my homework beforehand and find out where to eat that isn't so far away from the hotel. Any question, feel free to e-mail me at ----------.

    Can recommend this excellent hotel

    from

This is an excellent hotel, 5 minutes from Miami International Airport. The sparkling clean 2 story lobby provides big couches to sit on, as well as nice decoration. There is a shop and a there is a stairway - not to heaven - but to the breakfast room on 2nd floor. This room is spacious and well lit, decorated with flowers. A door opens to the poolside on rooftop of the garage. Poolside is video surveilled and provides a jacuzzi as well as plenty of seating capacity. You can have your breakfast out there.

Juice, coffee, tea and fresh fruit are provided 24 hours in the breakfast room.

Staff was outrageous friendly and helpfully (a lady from Colombia). Her words "my home is your home" really made us feel very comfortable here.

Hotel is a small skyscraper with several floors. Parking in the covered parking garage as well the parking lot is free. Access for garage and elevators only with roomkey.

The rooms are sparkling clean and very inviting, one of the nicest budget hotels I know! For a very good price - regarding it is in Miami and close to Tamiami Trail as well as to some more mainroads and interstates. Across the street you will find a small shopping plaza with Publix, drugstores, restaurants and some more shops. You can walk to it.

Rooms are spacious, we had 2 double. Room includes a table, two chairs, a writing desk, closet, TV with remote and about 30 channels, enough lamps to lighten the evenings (which is important for me!), and you have 2 phones, alarm-clock and can get wake-up calls. Colours are bright and pastel.

Bathroom with sink, tub and toilet is an extra room. They provide nice toiletries (even lotion) and you can get more complimentary stuff from front-desk. There is a hairdryer als well. Toilet flushes really loud.

In room they provide free wireless internet or internet on TV (to pay for, as well as for videos). They have new bed-trays to work on and you get a free bottle of water and some ritz-bits. Air-conditioning is silent and windows soundproof (you hardly hear the planes or traffic noise).

Walls are thin though, you hear people walking and all bathroom noises from around, and sometimes the walls make crackling noises. The room doors to not close well to the indoor corridors and can easily be slammed which is disturbing during night. Over night you get your invoice pushed from outside under the door into the room.

    Great value - awesome hotel!

    from

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on the last night of our 10 day trip to Miami and the Keys. We wanted a hotel close to the airport since we were leaving early. I had read the previous reviews to make my decision and I must say, this hotel was MUCH better than I expected. It was actually the nicest room we stayed at on the entire trip for half the price! The hotel is pretty much brand new and everything is so clean. Our King room was huge with a fridge, microwave, wet bar...all for $80 per night. The hotel has a pool, whirlpool, complete exercise room with a few new treadmills, and the best continental breakfast we had on the entire trip.

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed at the Best Western Beach Resort close to South beach ($160 per night) on our first two nights and it hardly compares to this hotel (the only plus is that it's right on the beach).

Highly recommend the Hampton Inn and Suites Blue Lagoon

    from

This hotel had an airport shuttle that ran every 30 minutes which was prompt, clean and the driver very helpful and friendly. I arrived at the hotel before check-in time of 3 pm but this was no problem for the hotel staff. They quickly checked me in my room. I had some questions about pier shuttles as I was leaving the next morning on a cruise and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful getting me this information.

The hotel itself is exceptionally clean. My room was a King Study and contained a microwave and fridge. Very large and comfortable room with a couch, bed, coffee table, trunk to place luggage on. Nintendo was available for those kids in the party. AND they give a bag of microwave popcorn.......that was perfect since i was a bit hungry. There was hotchocolate, coffee and tea in my room as well. The breakfast buffet had lots for every appetite. Fresh orange juice, apple juice and coffee was available in the breakfast room all day as well as apples.

The coolest thing about this hotel was the bathroom. As the hotel is new it has some neat features such as a shower curtain that is almost in a semi circle so that you have more room and the shower curtain doesn't stick itself to your parts while showering. Also, there seemed to be some system that kept the mirror from fogging up in certain areas.

Nice pool but a bit cold. Jacuzzi helped to warm you up as it was hot!

There is a Publix (grocery store) across the street as well as a few shops. There is a Walgreens at the next intersection. As well there was a bakery across the street, a subway, burger king, MacDonalds, gas station......pretty much all you could ask for.

They have a business centre with 3 computers where you can access the internet to check email, weather, etc and they have a small shop for necessities and sweets.

I had a great pre and post cruise stay at this hotel.

    Super Hotel!

    from

Stayed here on a one night layover between Florida Keys and Miami Airport. We were very pleasantly surprised by the great, cheerful rooms...Nice sized bathroom, comfortable beds. Eveything in the hotel was immaculately clean. We enjoyed the workout room and the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The breakfast lounge was very impressive. Stylish decor, variety of options for foods, and all free! If you are in a hurry, you can pick up a bagged "breakfast to go." I also definitely recommend the "Don Pan" International Bakery right across the street. They have really tasty sandwiches and empanadas and all sorts of yummy treats from Venezuela. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again. The airport shuttle service was perfect. If you need a hotel near the airport, look no further!

    Great stay for the money

    from

The hotel staff was very nice. THe breakfast was huge, a very large variety to choose from. THe outdoor pool and hot tub looked great, but it was a little chilly the 3 days we stayed there, so we didn't get a chance to use them. The rooms are nice. Not a huge selection on the tv for channels, no history, tlc, animal planet etc...but they did have 3 HBO channels. No fridge or microwave in my room, though I travel with my own. They have frequent ,free shuttles to the airport (every 30 mins). There are several drugstores and a gas station next door/across the street for any items you may have forgotten. Overall a very nice place to stay. MY AAA rate was 106/night double bed, smoking.

    Great hotel, great location

    from

This hotel was perfect for a layover we had in Miami en route to the Cayman Islands. Hotel transportation picked us up free-of-charge and dropped us off the next morning (also free). Only thing is that the hotel should probably have one more minibus - frequency every half-hour, so if you miss it, you're stuck for 30 mins. But courteous drivers and the hotel is about <10 mins away.

Breakfast is nothing exceptional but at the price of FREE - whose to complain. Enough of everything to go around (continental bkfst). Rooms and baths were excellent. Didn't care about the view. Walgreens and some restaurants were close by which is convenient.

Shop online at their corporate web site for the best rate incl. AAA rates.

Great Hotel to stay with kids

    from

Rooms where good with a fridge, microwave and coffeemachine. free breakfast and free coffee and orangejuice at the pool. another advantage is the free parking and free wifi internet. Also the staff was very friendly and helpfull. Location is not great but it's next to a small shopping area and close to highways. Would recommend this hotel.

It really is a floating city and has shops, casino, restaurants, bars, bakery, theatres and thousands of rooms. Our room number is 13822! It is all so clean and fresh, apart from the casino which smells of cigarettes. We decided to dine in a restaurant for dinner rather than the buffet. This was ...

After spending most of our holiday enjoying the one thing the GTA has not offered...sun, we decided our final day would be spent exploring the ship and engaging in all those cheesy entertaining elements we'd ignored for the week. First stop was the "ladies pamper party" where Mel and Andrea reduced some fine lines and whitened their teeth. They also had their footprints analyzed resulting in the recommendation of orthotics, which ...
