      ... on. You begin with pines trees in the top areas of the mountain range and as you drive those pines become palm trees further down the mountain. It was a very fun ride and incredibly, densely picturesque.

      While in Hemet, we could not resist featuring both a Pine tree and a Palm tree together in the same picture. Just can't wrap our heads around how Mother Nature can do ...

      ... closed-down businesses as we've seen in other places. We stopped briefly at a golf store where I was almost tempted by a new club, but escaped with all cash intact. At this point the temperature was back up to 23 and a beautiful sunny day.

      We continued on and soon found ourselves through Cathedral City and into Palm Springs. There really is no division between the cities; they just all melt into each other. We took the roundabout way back to I-10, passing through ...

      ... trip from here to Palm Springs, Indio and the towns around there. And we may take a few days to go to San Diego and do a few other one day trips. But mostly, I think we'll be parked.

      So...blogs will be a little more sporadic...I know, I know, how will you manage to start your mornings without a little vicarious travel? Not that any of you are reading this at work. I'll try to keep you posted if we do anything of interest beyond golf:)

      On Christmas eve, we made appetizers and then went to Riverside to the Mission Inn lights. While there we took a ride on a horse and wagon. Then we went home and opened presents. On Sunday, we went to church. It was amusing to see the same people leading worship as 5 or 7 years ago.

      My mom cooked a yummy Prime Rib with all the fixings. Yummmmm. It was soooooo good. I love my mom’s cooking.

      ... golf in Canada. So far we've hit 37 of the 61 courses here. Anyways, it seemed like the ladies spent two months shopping – the guys were done in an hour.
      The caulking around our roof mounted aerials, air horns, anemometer, and vents was always cracking so we found a guy, Joe Estanislao (an Indian/Polak hybrid so I knew right away that I'd found the best!) to come have a look. He's a Soboba Indian (native to this area) who worked as a ...
