Another early start, with the vans leaving at 6am. It was foggy again this morning, and we had a full sized bus to ride. The bus took us to the Riverside Club in Mission for our boat tour on the Rio Grande River. We boarded the boat and we were off in the fog. This part of the Rio Grande is behind a dam, so the water was smooth and calm. It was …

When we arrived at the dock, there were 2 pontoon boats lead by George and Scarlet …

We had to check out of the condo, so after packing up we headed to the Sea Turtle Inc project. However, we were a couple of minutes early so we went up to the first beach entrance and found a

large number of sea and shore birds on the Laguna Madre side. We were astounded by our fortune as we just kind of stumbled over it. However, we …

... transferred to Jackson Zoo in Mississippi.

While at the Omaha Zoo I stayed in their dormitory-type accommodation for visiting interns. Most of the interns are undergraduate students or have just graduated and thus are between 19 to 21 years old. I was lucky enough that I didn’t have to share my dorm room with anyone else, and my room even had a lovely view of the sunset. We all had shared kitchen and "living" facilities, which brought back memories of being in ...
