... I always think of the Omaha steaks whenever I hear Nebraska, but we had lunch at a place called First Watch. It’s a café that uses all healthy ingredients, most of which are organic and/or supplied by local farms. I really liked the idea of the company. I had a veggie burger and salad, and Evie had a turkey sandwich with salad. It closed at 2:30, and we were there until about 2:50 (we had gotten there around 2:20). A lot of places close ...

I ended up spending the day reading, relaxing, cleaning, doing dishes, and hanging out with my cat. I called my mom to wish her a happy mother’s day and we ended up talking for an hour, which was really nice. Gene took a van full of us to do some shopping so I was able to put our paycheck and our coloring book money on ...

... to get good seats and later on, a German woman who left the tent every ten minutes to smoke and ask me endless questions about the show. We only opened one gate to take tickets so I worked the first show and Elisa took the second show. I managed to paint a few faces between shows and Reyna gave me my first week’s pay for face painting. I’m slow at painting, but enjoying it and appreciating the fact that little kids don’t care if the design is perfect or ...
