... we called Penske and they send out a tow truck to pull us out of the mud. It was not fun.
Then, when on the road, I decided to face one of my ridiculous dislikes/fears. Those who know me well, know that I have an unnatural dislike/fear of cornfields. Nothing good comes out of cornfields. Every movie that has ever had a cornfield, has had something not right come out of it. And for those who will say, "Oh, but Field of Dreams" was ...
... they were to experience 60 knot winds which is hurricane strength so that's why they had a detour.
All in all I had a fantastic trip and highly recommend a voyage to Alaska. Someday I'd like to take the land and sea trip which is 2 weeks long - perhaps that will be a retirement trip to myself.
Thanks for joining me on my adventures!
... Hauck was great. Both grandmothers sang in the choir with Ati and Luke and aunt Julie was elevated into beaming Godmotherhood. We then celebrated at home with the pastor and his wife.
The rest of the week was spent with daily strolls and bike trips through town, swimming, jogging, playing golf (and not too bad, either, to my utter surprise). This interspersed with lounging in the garden and ...
At the Central Illinois Regional Airport on the outskirts of Bloomington. I included a photo of the closest sign to where I parked my car. Not so I can show all my friends the wonderful parking sign. It's so I can check it to remember where I parked when I come back. So everyone remember where we parked!!!

....had a dry run on actually attempting to close it. Don't worry, all safety precautions were observed and no small animals, small children, big children, small adults, really large imaginary animals, or ears of corn from the farmlands across the street were harmed during the performance of this test. It closed the first time! All systems go for carry-on only!
First of all, this is a really confusing and frustrating site to use. I was trying to link this entry to a photo I uploaded. I somehow left this in draft mode. I may just go to a regular blog site. I'm busy getting ready for the actual trip. I don't have time to figure out where everything is on this site. The only difference I ...

We left Wisconsin and all the drinking and celebrating behind and headed for Bloomington Illinois. Actually, we headed for an rv park that was outside Carlock, Illinois which is outside Bloomington. It's kind of hard to be outside Carlock because there really isn’t a lot to Carlock! The main thing we found about Illinois was that the highways are HORRIBLE and are being repaired. At least, that is what all ...
... to the departure boards it's gate 10. Waiting at gate 10 and it gets changed to gate 9 - geez! By this time I'm coughing, sneezing, have a scratchy throat and a runny nose...I just want a hot shower and my own bed! The plane leaves about 30 minutes late but we're back in Bloomington by 9:10 p.m. Yeah I'm finally home. What is it with cruises and me getting sick? When we returned from the cruise to the Caribbean I had walking pneumonia.

It was a great facility with batting cages, golf nets, an underwater treadmill, and a full workout facility with treadmills that go up to 30 mph. Kelly put us through quite the workout. Monica and I did an interval program on the treadmills and Ben did a backpedaling workout on the treadmill. It was hard work. We also ...
