Yay week 1 classes ended!! And ended well!!! Gave students surveys to fill out, and the comments were phenomenal!! They absolutely loved the class :))) always nice when that happens!!! Had a nice lunch and dinner in the dining hall with the staff too. AND I got paid for Emory. So the day is definitely looking up. Hope to have a relaxing time ...
Oops I have not updated... It's been pretty busy and tiring. Students arrived on Sunday, the same day I was working through the supply boxes and handouts and realizing some stuff was missing. I also checked my classroom and discovered a few issues... Issues I had anticipated and communicated to staff about. So Monday and Tuesday classes were rough. I mean on the surface, they went fine. 2 hour flight to Philadelphia + 20 min train ride to center city + 2 hour wait/lunch + 1.5 hour bus ride later... I am at Lehigh University!!! It is a gorgeous campus with a lot of hills and concrete steps. The midday heat rivaled that of Atlanta. I managed to get checked in, shower and nap before going to an all staff dinner! ... I think there were more people in "altered states of mind" than anyone else! Luckily the people on the bus itself were relatively normal. The bus trip to Bethlehem took about 2.5 hours but once I got there I had to wait an hour for a taxi! I’m so used to seeing taxis everywhere that it was really strange to be somewhere where there were hardly any!
