Good hotel with secure parking lot

This was our third Hampton Inn on the trip. We were a little concerned about the location as it seemed to be near a not-so-good neighborhood, but we didn't have anything to worry about. The parking was in a secure valet lot directly behind the hotel. Once again the room and breakfast were very good.

We continued on from Scranton to just outside of Albany, NY on I-88 to visit our friend Bob and his family.  They invited us for dinner which was great, frozen pizza and beer!  So nice to have a relaxed casual meal and just visit friends. To be honest, we were pretty tired of restaurants by this point in the trip!! I think we were …

    Hi Friends...

I'm starting this blog to keep track of my cross country road trip with Toby, (1 year old Chocolate Lab) and Princess, (6 year old Jeep).

These past few weeks have been pretty chaotic between the movers coming and cramming my tiny 5x10 storage unit to the brim in middle-of-no-where-western-mass, to trying to fit every single shoe (among other clothes & items I determined valuable enough to not be in storage) in Princess. Sadly, I was unable ...

Third day on the road, went from Rhinebeck to Waterford, NY. That's about 110km. It was quite a long day. Sores are starting to appear... you know where. The ride was very nice along the Hudson river. Went through Albany, capital of New York, which seemed like a very cool city. Then cycled to Waterford to the "campsite", and just a few meters before we got the place, my tire went flat. First flat tire of the trip, and I know, not the ...

... doing this blog & gave up in the end, just saving the draft entry.
Ate out at a nearby restaurant, fish for Lyn, Paella for me & some wine to wash it all down. The pub between our hotel & the restaurant was really crowded & doing good business when we walked home. Got a good sleep that night & hit the road the following morning, bound for either Syracuse or ...

Once we made it through the Troy Federal Lock, we headed to Albany, NY.
