Exploring Nashville

The hotel we are staying in provides you with an all you can eat breakfast. Dave is in food heaven, me on the other hand must be a fuss **** as nothing appeals to me at all! So fruit salad it was for me with a glass of juice. Dave had cheese and egg omelette, grits, sausage, Danish, bagel, freshly made waffle with butter, syrup and cream, yoghurt, …

We got up earlier to say goodbye to Jack, Lucy and Ellie before they headed off to school, but we missed saying goodbye to Michael.

We had bought a pumpkin to carve for Halloween to do another authentic American tradition so we got stuck into this before we headed to the airport. I draw the shape of the face onto the pumpkin and Dave …

Had a very good flight to New York where we travelled on to Nashville arriving at 5.15pm Nashville time which is 6 hours behind us. Picked up our people carrier. A white car this time. Found Hampton Inn and Suite no problem. Very nice room. We were quite tired but freshened up and went downtown to explore a bit. Very lively place with lots of music …

Good Lookin', Good Cookin', and a Country Song

... eventually with a magnifying glass at her side.

The Ryman was everything to do with grandma’s house, including the sounds, the feel, the happiness as you sat in those 100 plus year old pews (that even smelled like the pages of the old books adorning her bookshelves on the front porch). Flashbacks of old Opry shows appeared in my mind as I carefully studied the donated artifacts spread throughout the facility. I could smell the aroma coming ...

Johnny Cash-ville

... realised what a Mecca it was for old music! Anyway we then went back to Broadway street where all the activity was. There was a red carpet rolled out ready for the arrival of all the stars, television crews, and live performances going on again! It was mad that we just stumbled across all of it, but cool to see and after a while watching some country people who we didn't have a clue who they were, we left, and got on our way to Gatlinsburg, and the Smokey ...

Room 623 was huge, had a sitting area, desk, microwave and fridge in the bar area. Very clean, the staff was great, anything we needed was there in 5 minutes. Construction all around it but it didn't bother us one bit. Short walk to Broadway, Country Music Hall of Fame. Loved it!

True Southern hospitality in a great location!

This is a terrific hotel with a wonderfully accommodating staff who truly exemplify the term 'Southern hospitality' . The location downtown on 4th Street is perfect ...a short walk to the amazing Nashville music scene...Legends Corner, Tootsies, Robert's, and the famous Wild Horse Saloon, where you can take a free line dancing lesson. Our queen size room was enormous. It turned out to be a handicapped accessible room. The hotel bathroom, the biggest I've seen outside of Las Vegas, was wonderful until we tried the walk-in shower. Water covered half of the floor, emptying into a strategically placed drain in the center of the bathroom... But that was the only glitch. When we needed help accessing the internet, a delightful staff member was at our door in minutes with a new cable. He refused to accept a tip! And the (included) hot and cold buffet breakfast offered something for everyone. A wonderful choice for a Nashville visit. By the way, while there, do not miss the Grand Ole Opry (buy tickets way ahead of time), and the really interesting Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum with plenty of fascinating interactive exhibits and films (plan on several hours there).

My new fav hotel in downtown Nashville!

My new fav hotel in downtown Nashville! Hotel recently opened and upon the suggestion of a local I booked a stay there. Very clean and rooms are very spacious, not to mention big flat panel TV. And honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in at a hotel, no joke. They use the temper-pedic mattresses I believe and super comfortable bedding. The hot, free breakfast is quality (for hotel) and the fresh baked cookies are a nice bonus (even if they're ripping off the Doubletree). I just booked another stay for when I return in a few weeks.

    Gorgeous Inside and Out!

Lucky enough to be offered the chance to stay in this brand new establishment in August 07 on a friend's Rewards Night. The lobby is a mix of dark, sleek wood with turquoise accents. There are dramatic floral arrangements and big windows which splash Nashville sun throughout. Quite breathtaking, I must say.

    Bellissimo, dentro e fuori!!

L'hotel scintilla, all'interno e all'esterno.
