... Rusk to Palestine. It was started in 1881 and built by the inmates at the Rusk Penitentiary.
The Rusk Penitentiary is now the State Hospital. Anyway, the train runs on Friday and Saturday from Rusk to Palestine and back. We left here at 11, arriving at the Palestine Depot at 12:30 then left there at 2 and arrived back here at 3:30. About the only thing I have to say is, Don't expect much. The train ride is OK. But there is nothing on the website to tell you ...

... get a few holes in.

We have a very nice site here. It's shady. We have a concrete patio with a picnic table. The only negative is we can't put out the main awning, but then since it's shady, we don't really need the awning. Haven't tried the pool yet, but we definitely will several times before we leave here. And talk about small world, the manager here was stationed with 54th Eng in Wildflecken, Germany. ...

After walking around for a bit, we got back in the car and drove around looking at different
buildings. By then it was time to head back "home" and get ready for dinner.

After dinner we took a trip to DQ for some ice cream because we didn't go yesterday when we said we would.

Tomorrow we pack up and head for Rusk, TX and a few days of ...

... their hours on the doors are Mon-Sat 10-5. So we just looked around outside. Nothing else was open. After looking around the museum we drove over to Sam's and had a hot dog then to Walmart for a few things.

Now we're back home and watching TV and relaxing. Tomorrow the guy who is repairing the windshield is supposed to be here about 9 am. After he is finished, we will be visiting some of the sites here in Nacogdoches.

... I told Bob to stay on 59 because I did not realize that we were at the split. Well since we were headed for Nacogdoches, I called a fellow Renegade who lives and works there to see if he could recommend someone to fix the windshield. He did so we called him and went by his business. He said he could fix it, but not until Monday. We went in search of an RV park and ended up here. The other two we saw were, um.....NO!! So we will stay here ...
