... tell him where I was. Took a hike (about 2 miles), flat, but lots of pretty foliage. Saw a turtle, a frog, and a rabbit. Put up my bed (I had brought a cot, pad, and sleeping bag) and ate dinner out of the cooler. Lots of folks were in the park, my neighbors were a youth group that sounded like they were having fun. This was very new for me as I have never held a proper gun before, let alone a loaded one and then shot it! I'm probably very wrong, but I shot a revolver, a pistol and a rifle...and I seemed to get along best with the revolver. There were some old cans and buckets to shoot at (nothing alive!) and I managed to get pretty good aim with the revolver :-p ...

      The Lone Star State

A travel blog entry by georgestrick on Aug 24, 2013

After a week of road trip and sleep deprivation, yesterday I touched down in Dallas, TX, for a stay with my relatives, Chris and Gladys. They picked me up from the airport and we made our way back to theirs (after a quick stop at Walmart for a few bits and bobs I'd lost or run out of since Maine). They are making me feel very at home here in ...
