Detroit, Michigan, United States pamericas... br>
------
Good evening Ohio!

Wow... I don't know where to start. I didn't write for a while: no internet in Cleveland and since Thursday I'm with friends: there nicer things to do now than work on the laptop.

On my first day here (Nov 12) John & Janet took me to the Motown Musum which is situated in the tiny little house where it all started. Amazing how so much great music can come out of such a small building.

The second day ...
Detroit, Michigan, United States mariatillemaWell, it never seems like too much luggage, or maybe it does. But after you have all the stuff packed; small bag, big bag, laptop bag, carryon bag, food bag, two big coats, an extra, extra big coat for a friend from Syria, then, THEN it seems like WAY too mucch luggage. Oy! We could travel with smaller bags, but that would mean we would bring fewer gifts, and have less ...
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States austinairwaves... pytti pannam (onion, potoato, beef hash), plus steamed kale and wonderful Swedish-style beans, with honey and vinaeger. DeLISH! The small restuarant/tavern is filled with Sousaphones, Euphoniums, and of course, bigass TUBAs. Lots and lots of tubas! We were seated in one of the booths, with a world map next to us on the wall. I told our cute waitress that I was headed to Ghana, and she exclaimed, "My sister JUST got back from ...
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States austinairwavesI am still at home. Only one more week. Being away from my home for three weeks requires a lot of preparation. I even know the movie that are going to have on the Flight. I am tired already!! Since I will be on a plane for almost 24 hours, I am collecting all the necessary stuff needed to be comfortable.
Ferndale, Michigan, United States kfworldtravel... put it over her head. She had to have the tiniest shoulders ever for that to work. :)
The show was an absolute blast, Mitch was great, and I laughed so hard. It was exactly the break I needed.

We then went next door with some of the cast to get a couple drinks and chat. It was a great night. Everyone I met was so nice, friendly, and funny. Thank you for a lovely night!

On to Kalamazoo... which if nothing else provides much joy in saying its name :)
Detroit, Michigan, United States tourdevPhew... Going through US Customs was a bit trying... No searching but a lot of questions meant - I supposed - to catch us with something bad... Who knows. We did not loose any meal. We're in the middle of a fairground, with a weak WiFi but OK. The only analog TV channels are from Detroit but the Detroit area offers 22 digital channels, many

Longer day than expected but we grinded the flying condo to a halt. No problem other than a sticking lock on the propane door.

Royal Oak, Michigan, United States tnowakow... to the trip. Sunday night we camped at a state park (our favorite type of park) near Lebanon and did some trout fishing and checked out their hatchery before we hit the road. Squirrels and raccoons keep us on our toes with our rubbish bag habits in these parks. We waved goodbye to Missouri and hello Oklahoma on Monday and drove in the rain all day to reach Oklahoma City for a cold night, 5c, in ...
Detroit, Michigan, United States mcgregors5... industrial noise band-and to rally around him in the Detroit Artists Workshop. Above all, Sinclair was, and is, a poet, and he used words for maximum effect. He was also the last of what Norman Mailer famously dubbed the White Negroes, guys who found black culture preferable to the sanitized white mores of the 1950s. Some of his best essays focus on blues and jazz, especially the free jazz that some black musicians, like my record store manager, feared would ...
