I found this hotel to be super comfortable, clean, and it had nice amenities. The breakfast was the same as most complementary hotel breakfasts, but it was very fresh. The fitness center had plenty of space and equipment, including free weights, a weight bench and a mat. There are plenty of restaurants near by too. The staff was friendly and helpful.

... was still warm and I had a lovely read and snooze on the pool lounges - just no tan (or sunburn). Josh partook of the pool, doing a few laps. To avoid a repeat of our extended time on the freeway, we decided to "cross town" to Hollywood nice and early, as we were meeting friends for dinner at 7pm at Ago (part owned by Robert DeNiro) on Melrose. So we dolled up (for the first time on ...

Weather was back to Monterey fog yesterday, and a little chilly. It was almost gloomy when we arrived to play golf at 8am. Black Horse was great although the greens were brutal. On one par three we all hit the green and then three of us four-putted! Despite too many putts I played below handicap, helped by three birdies - the most in one round in ages. And good enough to win the most "skins". We cut short our ...

Today I went on a tour to Hollywood ; my first destination was Venes Beach, more like Mt. Druitt if it had a beach; It felt dangerous, like a guy was going to pick out a gun at any moment and shoot. It's home to the muscle beach but I think it was too early to see that delightful show. Next stop was back to Santa Monica; I liked this place, quiet, no street kid going to cap my ass. Then we went to ...

... to get used to sitting on the wrong side of the car. After an eventful car ride and typical LA traffic, we made it!! I fell asleep early so again haven't eaten properly in a day ( I'm dying for a cheeseburger!!) Tomorrow we are off (technically it's already tomorrow but I've been asleep) to Yosemite National Park :) keep an eye out for Shane's photos!! See ya later ...

Today we would be leaving the lovely Del Coronado and making our way up to Hollywood. It's only about 110 miles, but with traffic, who knew how long it would take?

Once again, breakfast in the room, with the kids taking their time getting ready. Meanwhile, Mark and Cheryl were busy getting everything packed and taking loads to Old Blue.

By 10:30, Old Blue was packed and ready to go, but we wanted to take one last look around ...
