ahhh! It's been so long since I've written something.
I had been really busy with work. Everyday from 8-5:30. And I was still teaching English classes some nights.
I'm finally back in the states. Visiting for a month. Then it's back to Costa Rica January 4th.
Completely in reverse culture shock! I can't believe I'm back. Everyone speaks English. I keep accidentally kissing people on the cheek when ...
As we move so close to moving on, I realize that I've been miserably negligent in updating the TravelPod. Even though we were working 20 - 40 hours per week at Cedarlane RV Park, we still managed to enjoy ourselves on our days off (generally Sundays and Mondays).
We explored a Confederate Officers' Cemetery on tiny Johnson's Island; visited nearby Marblehead Lighthouse a couple of ...
Cedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.
There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
On September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.
The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
... there. It was worth it. We stopped by the Cleveland Brown stadium next door to their gift shop but it was closed - it was 5pm - cool looking stadium. We decided to put Steak n Shake into our GPS and sure enough there was one near by and we were off for our 2nd visit - once again yummy! We headed back to Jett and the camper - he was great and excited to see us! We just hung out - played on Facebook and called it a night!
Sandusky, Ohio, United States dornan... since breakfast, we were starving however neither of us were up to going to a restaurant. Instead, we settled on tailgating behind a Home Depot with a take- out pizza and a glass of wine. Pretty Delicious!
Cons: Fuel mileage was a dismal 10 MPG with a consistent head wind.
Overall: Great travel day.
Just wanted to upload some more pictures of our life and times around Cedarlane RV Park. We're both working LOTS of hours (~40/week apiece), which is more than we had expected...but it will certainly help the finances, which is why we're doing what we're doing!
Our days off are Sunday and Monday, so we've taken advantage of these two pre-Memorial Day off days to explore the area nearby.
As I said in the last entry - this is very much a water-activity based area, which means lots of marinas, bridges, islands, and - Marblehead Lighthouse ...
Today was my last day of work at Firelands. Wow...not quite how I expected it to be. I don't think I was prepared to feel so emotional and overwhelmed. I am blessed to have worked with amazing people who have turned me into the nurse that I am today. Without many great nurses that work in the CVICU, I don't think I would ...
Sandusky, Ohio, United States lauraw.rn... and Toledo, which for just over £25 for a room is pretty decent. ROB - That was not a pizza. That was the entire daily output of the local bakery, the cheese store down the road with more than 100 types of cheese (Gromit), Walls' sausage factory and a daily Heinz tomato delivery, all layered together and forced onto one plate. Even the greatest living American - if not the greatest living being - Homer Simpson (yes I know he's not ...
