Hampton Inn San Francisco Bay/Hayward

So far, our trip has been a great success. We started out with our pre- international travel ritual of double margaritas at the airport and had great seats on the plane (thank you Expedia seat suggestions). It was long and tiring day. I am exausted and want to go to sleep. By refueling I mean in a food way, a wardrobe way and most of all a family way. We're home! At least for a month or so.... We are reconnecting with our nephews and nieces, parents and siblings. We are scavenging the second hand clothing stores for everything to rain jackets, designer sweaters and anything from Banana Republic and DKNY. And we are getting our fill of glorious cheese and spicy Mexican food (homemade of course).

Having dropped off our car - our 1319 mile tour of the east coast completed - we arrived at Buffalo airport for our flight west. Despite a brief stop-over in Chicago-Midway, the trip from Buffalo to San Francisco looked short on paper but, once the time difference (3 hours) had been taken into account, we had been travelling for about 8 hours by the time we arrived in California. Well, we have a few days left before we leave for Auckland, New Zealand.
