After shopping for some camping equipment in SLC, we set off in our comfortable Chevrolet Sonic rental car for Lander, Wyoming - a very dramatic drive through lightning and thunder - somewhat ominous...

We then used the ship's GPS locator on our tv to see where our current location was. I wasn't sure I would actually use this, but I did every single morning and at other times throughout the cruise. I took all our carryons and the two little girls directly to our connecting gate so we wouldn't have to go through security again. When I spoke to the agent about adding Elyse as a lap child, she looked at the flight and was able to immediately clear all of us, so we were starting our trip on a very good note!

... was a big metal festival, with 10-11 bands all of which I really like! Got excited like a little kid, as had my eye on that tour before I went out, but meet expected any of the dates to line up :) Cancelled some of the arranged lifts south I'd just managed to sort out (probably cost me an extra $50 but meh) and decided to stay a couple of days more in Salt Lake just for that. Then managed to find another couchsurfing host for the following day so could escape from ...
