... at Stafford, VA, at a Bob Evens restaurant, which is a chain restaurant we stopped at a couple of times last trip, but had forgotten how good the food was & how cheap! I had a turkey dinner, which was sliced turkey breast and enough stuffing for 3 NZ helpings of stuffing, baby carrots, mashed potato & gravy, cranberry relish & two huge biscuits – all for $9.99. Note – this was actually our ...
Durham, North Carolina, United States alvrezOur Danville, VA show was supposed to be abysmal. We had to load in early, because the space was so bad. Thursday night, after we did venue run, we received the most glorious phone call ever. Due to the bad weather, and flooding throughout VA, our Friday show was cancelled!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! !
I can't tell ...
Our Thursday performance was at Duke University in Durham, NC. The campus truly is beautiful, but like any school that believes more in sports and science than anything else, their theatre was falling apart. The stage was VERY old and uneven, which made building our set a bit tricky. Their Technical Director, however, toured with our company about 12 years ago... and with one of my cast members! The reunion between the two was hilarious, as neither knew the ...
Durham, North Carolina, United States tourdev... which I enjoyed on the flight as my last legal underage drink.
Everything was running smoothly, except I was stuck next to a complaining old British woman who I gave my aisle seat, and I only slept for a couple of hours. However, that same British woman got me a free beer from the airline cart, so I can't really complain. Like I said, everything was running smoothly until we got to Atlanta. Apparently, 14 hours later ...

Keep the faith & let me know if you are reading & enjoying my blog. I am trying to attach a photo to this one not sure if I did it right. Mary
Durham, North Carolina, United States marykuch47... all who know them back home. The daffodils are ready to pop down here and the pansies are blooming. It's not too warm here - 40s. We took a nice long walk after lunch & it felt good to be out of the car. I have decided to name our ONSTAR computerized guy Clark (like Lewis and Clark the explorers)! Keep the faith! Mary
Durham, North Carolina, United States marykuch47On election night, I had rushed downtown later that night, to be with my team the rest of the night. They were all happy and partying, as we went back to the office - but there was one little issue nagging us all; North Carolina had not been called for either candidate, as the numbers were simply too close. As the night wore on, it became clear we would not get an answer, a closure on what we had ...
Durham, North Carolina, United States sundboellThe morning after - and I'm about to leave Durham, on my way back to New York. I quickly liked the people I met in Durham, from Meredythe and Irwin, over the team around the Obama campaign, to the Americans whose doors we knocked. But I've never hidden that as a city, Durham leaves much to be desired ! It has a boring downtown (or none at all, actually) and quite simply lacks life ! I've already gotten the history lesson about how ...
Durham, North Carolina, United States sundboell... noon, we run out of turfs to cover, or list of doors to knock - so we start diverting volunteers to other counties where they need them. Late afternoon most bets are off, and Eric, myself and another volunteer just drive out into a neighbourhood and start knocking on doors in the darkness and pouring rain. When finally we find Bryan, who hasn't yet voted, I drive him straight to the poll site, while the others keep knocking. Coming home, we high five for having literally dug out ...
