1901 Dewar Drive Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States, 82901, 307-382-9222

Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States vera_und_alex... in Wyoming looked good. The van was making a loud knocking noise on the rough roads so I checked underneath and found a loose rear shock. So we are stuck here until it is fixed drinking wine and watching HBO. Stay tuned. Nels

.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States reneltrek... west boom town. The coal and oil industry's are really expanding. New buildings going up everywhere. Everyone here drives a 4 wheel drive pick up - and I mean everyone. Driving a Chevy Impala made me just a little afraid. I added some of the better photos from my days in Chicago. Tomorrow we land in Eagle, ID.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States leonardgrillAfter traveling through lowering skies, heavy air, and the threat of thunder storms and even tornadoes yesterday, this morning I woke to sunshine and a cool breeze. North Platte is at about 2800 feet and is on the line between the crop land of Iowa and eastern Iowa (corn and soybeans mostly) and hay, pasture and rangeland. So, as I drove west I felt more as though I was in 'the west'. Ranches were larger, and were further and further apart, instead of ¼ to ½ mile between ...
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States rvrladypat... s a good thing that it's population is sparse, since the mining takes up a lot of space and is not particularly beautiful either. It's good to be back in the west, and I'm struck by how much more this area feels like the west than further west does. I know that I live about as far west as one can get in the continental US, but Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and Nevada feel more like 'the west' than the west coast does. I guess it's because I live in 'ecotopia' not the 'wild west'.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States rvrladypat... you follow this road. I took a photo at a rest stop just to show the snow and wind - note the flags. When I arrived in Rock Springs I drove out to the Wild Horse Rescue ranch and looked at the horses. I was going to adopt one for Carol, but it was too late and the office was closed. I have some better photos of the horses, but will not be able to load them till I get home.
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States leonardgrill... all but one sleezy motel were full so we had to drive even farther to get to Green River, Wyoming and ended up paying as much for a hotel there as we would have paid in Jackson 4 hours earlier-oh well. We discussed whether to start our trip home or try and get one more destination in and decided to get some sleep and decide the rest of our plan in the morning.
Green River, Wyoming, United States lfont... one was Salt Lake City with remains of Great Salt Lake where the salt is collected for Morton Salt Co. and where Jet Blue outsourcing takes place. It is also a home to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly called the Mormon Church. We were impressed of the magnificence, the size and the ...
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States studioizar... They were pretty awesome at the same time pretty expensive so I decided against it. Then fatigue set in. We get some pizza at a local place and just had some time to lay back and relax. There was where I got a chance to talk to Ryan and about my trip. Nick, Ryan and I talked about how actual proof is the most important key when trying to encourage people to do something important. China. Some might call it hypocritical that the US demands more environmental restrictions on ...
