... isn't a great location, but the hotel is really comfortable and has a great swimming pool. It was as far as we wanted to drive in one day anyway. All the town signs around here seem to show population and elevation - Rock Springs has a population of 23,276 and an elevation of 6,271 feet and that's about all there is to say about it. I'm glad we picked a decent hotel! Dinner was a Chinese in the nearby Bonsai restaurant, which made a nice change.

... could have stayed there all day taking pictures but we had to leave and make our way to Rock Springs, WY for the night. It was such an amazing drive. One minute you were in the mountains, the next you were surrounded by HooDoos (which make ours in Drumheller look small). ... pictures! It is all so fascinating and varied. On the way, we passed by the Sand Creek Massacre site, which because of time constraints we were unable to stop at, but the history is shocking and grievous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_Creek _massacre

After a glorious drive, we finally arrived very late at our Rock Springs KOA campsite and settled down for a good night's sleep.

... hold out. We're gonna pacify ourselves with barbequed pork chops tonite! Oh, yea, we are living high on the hog on this trip!! (Pun SO intended!) We are staying in our second KOA tonight. The one in Utah was VERY impressive. The bathrooms were a close second to ours at home. The one in Wyoming... well, let's just say, Spread Eagle is feeling quite comfortable. Catching more people pointing and laughing at our home. What's up with ...
