Left Richmond with great hopes for putting a lot of miles behind us but were thwarted by winter. Almost like it was following us. Lunch at Harpers Ferry where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers converge, as do the states of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. A very old and historic town - could ramble for hours.
Travelled via the pretty Catoctin Mountain area. We have had some great drives through the countryside, getting off the highways when we can.

I lived in RVA for 4 years and had no idea this place existed! It was awesome. An old train buttress turned into a climbing wall. Someone came along and bolted the routes and left courtesy rugs for ropes (high flooded area). It was perfect. We started on the shaded wall where it was a bit chilly but we outsmarted the brick and had hand warmers in our chalk bags!
