      Did a guided tour of the Capitol building which began at 11.50am. Caught the Metro for the first time. My ticket wouldn't work and we had to go via another station so I could get it replaced. We got off at Capitol South Station and walked up hill to the Capitol bldg. It is magnificent. Beautiful statues everywhere (2 from each state) and some others also. Unfortunately they are restoring the ceiling ...

      ... 400,000 tombstones. All I can say, they had better buy more land as they will get pretty crowded. I thought that it was only for soldiers who died in conflicts but NO! Anyone can get in there. First you must be dead. You can also be married to a military person. You also do not have to died in battle (any form of dying will do)
