... closed the bags for the last time and got the shuttle to the airport. Checked in, through security (another SMALL bottle of water taken off me and nearly the Vegemite, which I had forgotten to move into checked luggage). Up to the Qantas Club to wait out the rest of the time - and have lunch (at 5.30pm).

Boarded the A380 ready for 8pm departure. Sat in the Tarmac for 30 mins, then up, up and away.

... on my lap cried/screamed for most of the flight. But we were in the back row so at least we only disturbed the back portion of the plane. Another saving grace was that Bruce and Judy- some of Tom's friends, were waiting for us at the airport. They loaded our bags into their car and drove us to our hotel.
