    • Easy drive but really didn't get far?!..despite explicit instructions I managed to get turned around ( ie lost)leaving Kitchener just as I did entering it!!!...not an easy "on/ off" from 401!!

... We ate, talked and drank coffee until the restaurant began to turn off lights and close. It was 12:30. During the morning others drifted down to the restaurant and joined us. Bill Arbuckle, Gail Swope and Pam Swope, Diane Clark Armstrong and Karen Clark Nagy came a said hello. As we were leaving, some moved upstairs to watch the Michigan/Michigan State football game. Can't wait until tonight to see everyone. Should be fun!! ...

After a day of cruising down country roads through Indiana and Ohio that my GPS sent me I arrived at the Michigan Welcome Center around 4pm very tired. In addition to the fatigue of riding continuously for three weeks, I was subjected to a ride through Indianapolis and Toledo. Both cities had a lot of traffic lights and it seemed as they all turned red just for me. Garmin my GPS maker has been excellent throughout this trip except for today. The flight to Detroit was late, which was no problem for me, but there were plenty of others scurrying to make their connections. Detroit metro seemed to be sort of a sprawly type airport, but it did have a nice express train connecting to the terminals. It did not have free wifi which was sort of annoying, but I kill the time reading my free papers and organizing my the music on my Ipod. Pretty uneventful. Next stop Shanghai...
