      ... We arose early to get ready for breakfast at 8:30, followed by the general business meeting. We decided to visit some more of the sights around, so we drove over to Hye, TX where there used to be a Post Office where a young LBJ mailed a letter and later named the head of the US Post Office from the front porch.       ... could have some peach ice cream. Well, actually I also bought a small candle (at Circle E) and a really nice top and some earrings (at the Wildflower Farm).

      This was the first day of the rally. For dinner we had Italian. Tonight no one stayed behind to play games, but Bridget & Carsten stopped by our place for a visit and we caught up with each others summer travels.

      ... to cook. As it turned out, we three couples decided to go out to eat, so we drove into Johnson City. We sat there for a couple of hours and visited and ate. It was nice not to rush.

      Now we're in for the night and we'll see what tomorrow brings. Since this is rally time, I may not write every night. So if you don't receive our email announcement, don't worry, we didn't fall off the face of the earth, just nothing exciting to write about.
