501 East Poyntz Drive Manhattan, Kansas, United States, 66502, 785-539-5000
News from Debbie:
We left Manhattan this morning and drove through the Flint Hills. These hills are the largest remnants of tallgrass prairie on the continent. If these grasses are uncut or ungrazed, they can grow to 8 feet high. The grass was blowing in the wind that is almost constant.
Once we were back on I-70, we saw farms and more farms and FARMS. Of course, we saw the coolest farm ever, a wind farm. Miles of turbines that don't emit anything. I think they should paint them...

... to Tulsa OK to visit a friend who went through grade school and high school with me. We were also in the same confirmation class at the 4th Presbyterian Church in Louisville. I mention this, because he had a picture of the class. He has lost some hair, but I look exactly the same!. Next weekend I will travel to Kansas City to visit my step-son and his wife. On the following Wednesday, i will return to Louisville and back to Ft. Knox the following day.

The UP tower is 8 stories high and is located on the south side of the yard. I could go into all kinds of details but the main thing was the west hump was not too far to the left of us and the east hump was quite aways from us across the span of the yard. So here we go with a brief description of the operation.
Trains coming from the west coast go to the west hump for processing. The trains consist is then pushed up the hump where a ...
We had planned to see a Latin Festival at South Street Port and walk the Brooklyn Bridge. By the time we arrived in Manhattan, it started to rain quite heavily. Instead we decided to walk around the city. We went down 42nd Street passing The New York Library. We took a turn down 5th Avenue towards the Empire State Building and walked along a street that looked like Little China but only to notice that it was only W 32nd Street. As we went up Broadway, it started to ...

Manhattan, New York, United States jbadventure... Ben, Becca, Jessie and Rachel have a fun time with their thirty something chickens and many chicks. Unfortunately, Caden didn't get to enjoy any eggs in the morning as he was sick all night and we moved him three times as he kept throwing up on everything. Lesson learned; don't put a child that is throwing up in your bed with you or on fabric cushions. TJ

Manhattan, New York, United States globaltravelerLeft Branson early this morning, drove about 5 1/2 hours in pretty high winds, (yes, Dorothy, we ARE in Kansas!) which were blowing south to north. Luckily, our rig has something called "Howard Steering", which can be adjusted to apply pressure to the steering wheel so that you're not fighting it all day long in the wind - even with that, Greg had ...

Maybe my eyesight was bad, I could not pick out Wichita. But my eyes picked her up immediately that night they took me to the best chicken restaurant within driving distance from the university. Even before we were seated. Read the rest in - The Ghosts & I

With promises of classic Elvis goods, we couldn't resist a quick stop at Nostalgia Ville in Kingdom City, MO. It did not disappoint with an entire store row of Elvis kitsch -- Kathy Meyer, you would have been in heaven! We stopped at the Missouri Capitol Building in Jefferson City. It was a large and beautifully maintained ...
