Hampton Inn Lincoln - Airport I-80

Oh boy. Day 3 was an action packed day. Not only did we see the world's largest truck stop (gasp!...and no we didn't visit) we ended up in Lincoln, NE home of the cornhuskers! What a formidable sounding foe. I'm trembling just imaging the terror that they must inspire in their opponents when they step onto the football field (this trip has a lot of football going on....).<br><br>Another 8 hours in the ...

... Where hay bales out number humans and cattle out number hay bales. Where dual wheel pickups are king. Where 5 plus miles views across fields are common. And where corn rules.<br><br>This drive may have added a couple hours to our trip but we saw what most tourists don't. Pictures we have, bu they are in the camera which is down in the truck. I'll try to get them uploaded tomorrow night.

Alright, i'm still at home and getting ready to go to the airport. My nerves are shot and i'm kinda sad that i'm leaving everyone for 2 weeks!! But it's going to be amazing and i just know everyone will be reading this and commenting to keep me happy and entertained... RIGHT????!!!!!<br><br>Also, i will miss my cats. ;)<br>

Well, it's been a long time planning and it's almost here. I've got only 46 hours left before i leave for France. I do hope you'll join me on my 2 week excursion to Europe. We learned that it was not only the first institution west of the Mississippi River to award doctoral degrees in 1896,but the college also celebrated its 140th anniversary of its founding on Feb 15th 2009. The trip from Rawlins, Wyoming, to Lincoln, Nebraska, was a long one -- over 600 miles. It was a straight shot along I-80 with way too much road construction. (Again!) The hostess was drunk, and laid her daughter's life story on us, who smokes marijuana out her dorm window in Colorado from a 12 ft bong made out of snow. "They're real liberal there" in Colorado. Everything was a little snappy. Real snappy down there. Pretty snappy out here. In the license plate game, I am up by 5 states with about 25 left!

So today, we arrived in Nebraska. To get here, we left Denver in the rain, and proceeded to drive for a very long time across Colorado, into and through Nebraska, until we finally hit Lincoln. Why Lincoln, some people ask? The answer is: I don't know. It was the nice half-way mark between Denver and Chicago, our next destination spot.
