We have been preparing for this trip all year! I can honestly say I have never been physical fit! I feel good and confident that I will be able to handle this trip. The only issue I foresee are blisters! I am talking about The Camino! The spiritual walk across Spain! Over 500 miles! I am ready! I plan to visit St. James carrying prayers from family and ...

... had been a big windstorm the night before and most of the beach washed away! Still, we had a good beach walk, plus a good seafood lunch afterwards with Devorah Fox at Fins on the water.

A place where they have spread topsoil over the sand ...

... I did the Volkswalk around the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. It was hard to get a good shot of Mission San Juan because it is under construction right now. A huge project is restoring several of the missions, as well as reconnecting them with the natural course of the San Antonio river.

... Made us proud to be Americans!

On the plane to Newark I lucked out with no seatmates so had plenty of elbow room to catch some z's. Three hour wait in Newark but not having to go through the Customs and Immigration circus that once was required was a welcome change. Nothing against C&I, mind you, but having to reclaim our luggage, stand in interminable lines for what seemed like hours at a time and then clear TSA once again just wasn't ...
