Just grabbed breakfast at McDonald's and gas after 2 hours on the road already. Stayed in Knoxville TN. It's been a wet and beautiful drive so far this morning. Of course it's just now daylight and starting to rain. We can tell we have gone north as we started out about 68 when we left hotel and by the time we stopped for gas we were all digging our sweaters out of the trunk. It is now 57 and dropping. ...

... halfway through South Dakota. Our goal is to at least see the following:

    South Dakota

    • 1880's Town
    • Badlands
    • Mount Rushmore
    • Crazy Horse
    • A couple of abandoned towns
    Devils Tower
    Grand Tetons

We are not sure where our adventure will take us after all of this. The really funny thing about this trip is that we have not made any reservations. For ...

Good morning from Rodgersville, TN! After 10 hours of driving with two stops for gas, lunch, and dinner; we're still four hours outside of Nashville. For his birthday, both my brothers bought my father tickets for the NASCAR Race in Bristol, TN. 120,000 + people will be packed into that area and I will not be one of them. The idea of cars chasing each other 500 times around a track does not interest nor amuse me. Mom and I are going to be relaxing around the ...
