... City with me sometime next week but sadly I don't think it’s going to happen. Had burgers for dinner (at Five Guys, Burgers and Fries) and then popped into Barnes and Noble to use their free wi-fi, still no internet at home till tomorrow. Was pretty late when we left so had a snack when we got in and a little more TV. It’s such a relief to have real tea, wasn’t sure how I was going to cope!

Came back and made a proper American sandwich with 3 layers of meat and 4 layers of cheese. All this took most of the day so we spent the evening watching DVD’s (Battlestar Galactica) and chilling out.
Elmira, New York, United States amyusa09... a nice goth boy so I felt right at home. Couple of films and a little sleep on the plane, and 8 hours later I was arriving in New York, Newark airport. How exciting! My first panicky moment was that they'd failed to give me the correct customs form on the flight and when I got the right one it was all in Spanish! Managed to pick up an English version and then spent my first ...

You seldom see that in Canada.

Arriving in Elmira, I checked into the hotel and went out for a drive around town. Its a sleepy little down, running along side the Chemung River. Both sides of the river are developed, and there are several bridges across the river.

First Night had dinner at Pudgies Pizza, greasy pizza and surprisingly good.

Elmira, New York, United States ksuterWell, today we leave the only home I have known. It is a wonderful city and I am proud to have been born in such a beautiful place and to have been welcomed to the world by the great friends here. Clearly my parents loved it here as they have been rather sad about leaving. My good friend Nadya even came by so say good ...
Ithaca, New York, United States matt~becca... As one person told us, it's either corn or grapes that is grown here and there's plenty of both .

We got 5 tastings at each winery and it's a good thing that they give such small amounts because that would be a lot of wine by the end of 5 wineries. Jay had told us 5 would be a good amount to do in one day and he was absolutely right! We think that as the day goes on, they give smaller amounts in the glasses to make ...
Ithaca, New York, United States gabbeec... out that her flight was delayed due to the weather. Keep in mind that all of the planes leaving this airport are tiny. This meant that she would miss her connecting flight to Atlanta, so she had to switch to a completely different flight and carrier. Robie and her suitcase got back into Minnie.
- We decided to go ahead and go set up our campsite since there was a break in the rain.
- Passed an Amish couple on a ...
Ithaca, New York, United States cgibbons18... of driving. Three hours got us to the Canadian border. It is easier to get into Canada than to get out. A quick look at the passports and we were in! The geography of that part of Canada is very similar to the terrain of parts of Midwest United States: rather flat. We thought we might be able to find a rest area to pull off and have lunch but nothing presented itself so we ...
Ithaca, New York, United States gabbeec... group of people and then of course I will still be using my regular email for any further contact :-) For my last few weeks in the US I decided to visit some of my favorite people, in some of my favorite places at my favorite time of year. Ithaca in the spring is, as the t-shirts claim, gorgeous. The brilliant green of the new leaves, pinks and purples of new buds, and warming sun bring an excitement that I think only comes after having been blanketed by the greys of ...

Suggested he might be able to hire one in Ithaca, which cheered him up no end. He was good fun, Two other guys on the bus travelling to Ithaca for the Cornell reunion weekend picked up on my accent, and regaled mw with all the sites and views I had to look at once I got to Ithaca.
