... although all drivers escaped unharmed, the final accident bringing out a red flag to stop the race with 8 laps to go. That decision meant that there were 6 green flag racing laps to the finish and the 200,000 plus crowd were rewarded with the second closest finish in race history with American Ryan Hunter-Reay taking the victory. Headed east from Champaign where I lost an hour crossing into Indiana and the Eastern timezone. I continued eastwards on the interstate bound for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to collect my parking permit for the race tomorrow.
