        And then into Alabama, as far south as we are travelling. Right on cue, ‘them ol’ cotton fields’ appeared as soon as we crossed into the state. Our evening meal was served by a woman with a softly spoken, flat southern drawl which was a little hard to follow, but she came good with a salad which David commented would feed a family of four.         ... cripes sake. Anyhow I guess they had a fiddle convention going on in Athens, Alabama, not Greece or Georgia...

        Muscles relaxed, mind at ease, blatter empty and a place to spend the night just up the road I motored down the hill out of the rest stop. Picking up speed rapidly, I smiled as I merged into traffic that was nonexistent at that point. I was not pickin and grinnin, but I was smiling a bit.

        ... trustfully, follow instructions from the visitor centre. Well, we ended up Lord alone knows where, crisscrossing back and forth, one minute on the route, next minute way off track. We spent most of our time trying to find the darn road that we were supposed to be on and quite frankly, discovered after much ado, we had pretty much ridden in a circle around Huntsville.         Very exciting events on today - firstly the Grand Parade after which we get to watch our new friends, the Central Mississippi drill team perform at the Drill team event. But first things first, the Grand Parade.
